To the Samawi friends and family across the world,
Mehregan is a day kept sacred since time immemorial. This is that time when the balance of the world is renewed once again. Mehregan is a time of love, of friendship, and of unity. It is a time of respect, joy, and a spiritual renewal of vigour regarding our covenant with God as individual beings and as a spiritual community across the globe.
During these past months, the worldwide Samawi community has been engaged in a period of gestation and bonding with one another. It is such that the call set forth on the 16th of Mercy has been heeded, and our community has nearly doubled in size due to our practiced fellowship and a fundamental love extended to all wishing to partake. Outreach was never the goal; a period of deepening and spiritual closeness with one another was all that was asked, and as a result such growth came naturally. This is the nature of Mehregan and of Meher. Today is the day in which the call set out on the 16th of Mercy has thus been concluded, and those councils who brought themselves forth to heed the call are now called forth to dissolve themselves or to otherwise meet and continue what necessary business remains in order to first complete their respective spiritual bonding periods before dissolving.
The experience of a first council such as this has been a joyous time, and some may fear a lack of guidance or cohesion without the guidance of a continued council. Yet, the spiritual closeness attained these past months assuredly has set the pattern for what is to come. It is incumbent now upon each community to dutifully host a feast on any one day of each month in which the community is most effectively able to gather upon for the rest of the year and ideally in perpetuity.
This call is not itself a reason to form a new council for the mere purpose of coordinating feasts unless a particular community is in extensive need of such impactful coordination efforts. The institution of the monthly Feast is a holy one by which the gathered and bonded communities may maintain their bonds, be merry with one another, learn together and address issues together. When a community faces a local issue which requires communal participation to resolve such as those that may be discussed during the monthly Feast, such is the necessary time to form a spiritual council and gather the Congress of Love.
Let this Mehregan be a light to you all, and the beginning to a most blessed and holy season, whereby the spiritual closeness attained may be ever nourished and deepened.
